Pulmonary exposure to ZnONPs caused the pathological changes in mouse cerebral cortex. After a single treatment of 3, 6, 12 μg/animal ZnONPs via tracheal instillation, the cerebral cortex tissues were collected at post-exposure days 1, 3 and 7. H&E staining was used to observe the morphological changes in the cerebral cortex (n= 3). Scale bar = 100 μm in original figures or 50 μm in zoom-in figures.
