Participants	Estimated sample size = 10 Inclusion criteria: GA ≿ 37+0 newborn infants with neonatal asphyxia (N = 5) according to pre‐defined criteria (not specified) Normal pregnancy and delivery
Interventions	in vitro characterization of the cord blood stem cell
Outcomes	The primary outcome is the characterisation of cord blood stem cells of neonates with neonatal asphyxia and to compare them with those from healthy newborn. Time frame: 2 years.
