(A) Liver sections were analyzed for steatosis using H&E staining. (B) Hepatic free fatty acid levels were measured using colorimetric assay. (C) Liver sections were analyzed for neutrophil infiltration using CAE staining where red positive cells indicate neutrophil infiltratiion. (D) The CAE positive number per microscopic field were counted. (E) Liver sections were analyzed for macrophage infiltration using F4/80 immunohistochemistry staining and brown positive cells indicate macrophage accumulation. (F) Hepatic CD68 mRNA levels were measured using RT-PCR. (G) Plasma ALT activity levels were measured using the Piccolo Xpress Chemistry Analyzer.
