The two pathways of NETosis (NETs formation). The right-handed pathway is the lytic (suicidal) pathway, in which neutrophil shrivel up or die after the release of NETs. The left-handed pathway is the non-lytic (vital) pathway, in which neutrophils remain viable after the release of NETs via exocytosis in vesicles.
