The interplay between neutrophils and platelets. Activated platelets secrete high-mobility group box 1 (HMGB-1) that activate and induce neutrophils to form and release NETs. Consequently, neutrophils produce NE, proteases, and cathepsin-G embedded on NETs, which in turn activate more platelets in a reciprocal process.
