Baseline values for the parameters used in our model, the evaluation of some being detailed in the supplementary material. For the channel length L, the experimental device of Huh et al.24 has L > 1 cm. In our model, L = 2 mm turns out to be sufficient for most of the simulations, with the exception of the breathing patterns of Sec. III C (see discussions therein).
