Local BLAST search. A local BLAST search for the transgene sequence (LC495729) against all reads obtained by MinION (Table 2) revealed that one fragment (sequence ID: 304cb0d3-cbe9-4e75-bf24-4f9390aa8525, #1 in Table 2) had two sequences homologous to the transgene (red arrows in the first and second rows). The homologous sequence in the third row (green arrow, #2 in Table 2) was an exon of the endogenous St3Gal2 gene. Homologies of the remaining sequences (#3 to #19 in Table 2) were coincidences because BLAST search in the Ensembl database confirmed the existence of the entire sequence of each fragment in the mouse reference genome sequence.
