Characteristics of the marmoset hearts used in the present study. Two marmosets were obtained live, while 11 were obtained as heart specimens fixed in formalin. The marmosets were between the life history stages of puberty and adulthood. Aged marmosets were not used. No heart lesions were observed. Heart weights were measured after fixation.
