Triple-combination therapy in C57BL/6 mice. (A) Six-week-old, female C57BL/6 mice were infected intraperitoneally with Toxoplasma (gray syringe), allowed to progress to chronic infection for 3 weeks, and then randomized into eight different treatment groups (n = 6). (B) The latently infected mice were treated with the indicated drugs for 3 weeks, and survival was tracked over that time. The difference was not statistically significant by the log-rank test. (C) Following 3 weeks of treatment, the brain cyst burden was quantified in a blind manner. P values were determined by one-way ANOVA (P < 0.0001), followed by an unpaired Student t test.
