Resolvin E1 (RvE1) and resolvin D1 (RvD1) counterregulate leukotriene B4 (LTB4)–stimulated increase in intracellular [Ca²⁺] ([Ca²⁺]_i) in goblet cells. Cultured rat conjunctival goblet cells were stimulated with LTB4 (10⁻⁸ mol/L) or histamine (histamine 10⁻⁵ mol/L) alone or incubated with RvE1 or RvD1 (10⁻⁸ mol/L) or vehicle for 30 minutes prior to addition of LTB4 or histamine, and [Ca²⁺]_i was measured.
