Serum levels of glucose were significantly different when comparing COVID-19–positive patients and controls. Similarly, significant increases were seen in the levels of some intermediates of the glycolytic and pentose phosphate pathways in sera of COVID-19–positive patients. No significant changes were noted in serum levels of carboxylic acids across the groups.
