Common side effects: hypotension; slow heartbeat; dizziness; blurred vision; excessive tiredness; cold hands and feet; diarrhea and nausea.
Less common side effects: loss of libido; erectile dysfunction or impotence in men insomnia; depression.
Contraindications: asthma; congestive heart failure; 2nd or 3rd-degree heart block; bradycardia; diabetes mellitus in patients prone to hypoglycemia awareness; peripheral vascular disease.
