Figure 3. — Serum cortisol levels following BRSV infection. Calves in the control group (n = 10) and SCFP-treated group (n = 12) were challenged via aerosol inoculation with BRSV strain 375 on days 19 to 21 of the study. Serum samples were collected on days 0, 3, 7, and 10 after infection and analyzed for cortisol concentrations using a commercial ELISA kit. One calf in the control group was euthanized on day 8 postinfection and is not included in the results for day 10 after infection. Data are presented as means ± SEM. Treatment effect, P = 0.321; Time effect, P = 0.014; Treatment × Time interaction, P = 0.913.
