Plaque formation and replication of vA8myxG6(C109S) and other viruses. (A) Plaque sizes. vA8myxΔG6rev (red), vA8myx (gray), vA8myxΔA26 (green), vA8myxG6C109S (yellow), vA8myxG6stop (light blue), and the WT virus (dark blue) were plated on BS-C-1 cells. After 48 h, the plates were stained with crystal violet. Upper panel, images of plaques; lower panel, areas of plaques. (B) Virus spread assay. BS-C-1 cells were infected in duplicate with 0.01 PFU/cell of viruses color coded as described for panel A. At the indicated times, virus titers were determined by plaque assay.
