Competition between vA8myx and A26L and G6R single and double deletion mutants. (A) BS-C-1 cells were coinfected in triplicate with a total of 0.01 PFU per cell of vA8myxΔA26, vA8myxΔG6, or vA8myxΔA26ΔG6 together with 10-fold more vA8myx in each case. vA8myxΔA26 expressed DsRed, vA8myxΔG6 expressed EGFP, vA8myxΔA26ΔG6 expressed both fluorescent proteins, and vA8myx expressed neither. After each round, the red and green plaques and total plaques stained with crystal violet were enumerated. (B) Image of fluorescent and total virus plaques.
