Comparison of amino acid distribution in bioactive peptides from different sources. Bioactive peptides from animal (non-marine) sources have been described in Maestri et al. 2019 [30]. Bioactive peptides from marine organisms are described in this paper. The five main categories of amino acids are as described in the text. Deviation from 100% can be explained by the presence of multifunctional peptides, unusual amino acid residues, etc.
