Perfusion of the hearts of young mice with linagliptin at human Cmax equivalent enhances contractile recovery after ischemia reperfusion injury. Percentage recovery of left ventricular developed pressure 40 min after reperfusion (%LVDP R40) in the hearts of male (purple circles) and female (red circles) C57BL/6 mice aged 7–8 weeks perfused with vehicle (Krebs Henseleit buffer, KHB; n = 19) or KHB supplemented with 9 nmol/L linagliptin (n = 23), 817 nmol/L sitagliptin (n = 23), 110 ng/mL alogliptin (n = 22) or 24 ng/mL saxagliptin (n = 20).
