Images were obtained at 10, 20 and 40× magnification for the overall analysis of the tissue samples, however, only representative images at 40× magnification are presented here. Semi-quantitation was performed using ImageJ Fiji (version 1.2) and statistical significance was determined using GraphPad Prism 5 software using one-way ANOVA followed by uncorrected Fisher’s LSD test (* p < 0.05, ** p < 0.01, *** p < 0.001). The data presented are mean ± SEM of six animals per group.
