Prolonged single housing abrogates mTOR pathway activation in the HPC following acute stress. (A) Basal levels of S6 phosphorylation in the dorsal HPC are similar in SH7 and SH14 mice, but 1 h following acute injection stress and EPM testing, SH7 mice exhibit a significantly higher PO4-S6/total S6 ratio than SH14 mice. This increased S6 phosphorylation in SH7 mice returns to basal levels by 6 h post-injection and behavior.
