Signatures of awakening, profound unconsciousness, and adequate unconsciousness are all present and easily identifiable despite the patient’s young age. Changes in the EEG spectrogram preceded changes in patient behavior, while changes in heart rate (B) and blood pressure (C) both followed the awakening event (timepoint 1, red line). The blue line (timepoint 2) represents the timepoint when the patient stops moving.
