MSCs isolated from various tissues such as adipose tissue, bone marrow, endometrium, umbilical cord, and other tissues are able to secret a large number of soluble factors. These soluble factors have various biological functions including immunoregulation, inhibition of HSC activation, anti-inflammation, and anti-oxidative stress. Moreover, they further decrease the cell death rate and improve liver regeneration for preventing liver injury and maintaining liver homeostasis
