Starved cells in 6-well plates were stimulated with 10−10 M–10−6 M AVP for 12 h (a) or 24 h (b), and harvested for total RNA or cellular supernatant. c, d AVP induced IL-6 expression in a time-dependent manner in ARCFs. Starved cells in 6-well plates were incubated with 10−6 M AVP for 0–48 h and harvested for total RNA. IL-6 mRNA was measured by qPCR as described in the methods. The supernatant was collected to measure IL-6 using ELISA as described in the methods.
