Correlation between hematoxylin and eosin (H&E, A), interleukin-6 (IL-6, B), and intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1, C) staining (quantified as described in materials and methods) and area of necrosis (AON)/area at risk (AAR) % was determined [wild type, n = 16; low-density lipoprotein receptor knockout (LDLr KO), n = 15].
