Insulin and heparin challenge tests on plasma glucose and serum insulin levels. Regular insulin 10 U (black circles with a solid line), insulin lispro 10 U (white triangles with a solid line), regular insulin 10 U with heparin (black circles with double lines) and insulin lispro 10U with heparin (white triangles with double lines) were administered subcutaneously accompanied by continuous intravenous infusion of regular insulin (1 U/h) as basal insulin.
