C3. Special Populations | We recommend that patients on dialysis (a) residing in a long-term care facility or (b) coming from another facility the following precautions be observed in addition to those in Table 2 or 3. | Principles I-V |

● In regions where there are identified outbreaks in long-term care facilities, all dialysis patients residing in long-term care facilities should be considered as P3 (exposed) whether or not the home has been identified to have an outbreak. ● P3 recommendations in Table 2 or 3 should continue until at least 14 days AFTER OUTBREAKS HAVE CLEARED from facilities in the region. ● Patients from different long-term care facilities should NOT be cohorted together unless full droplet/contact precautions can be respected (see below), as this practice increases the risk of spread between long-term care facilities. ● Patients on dialysis coming from another dialysis facility should be categorized and treated as P3 for 14 days. |
