Non-muscle Myosin II structure and activation. Myosin II can be phosphorylated by a number of different kinases (ROCK, MRCK, MLCK and Citron kinase). This phosphorylation causes Myosin II activation and unfolding and its assembly into bipolar filaments. Phosphorylated Myosin II is inactivated by Myosin phosphatase.
