Fitting the Fibril Division Model to Fibril Length Decay Data Extracted from AFM Images

The analytical solution of our division model shows the decay of average length as function of the γ parameter in Equations 2 and S22. Equation S22 was fitted to the decay of average fibril length during division for each of the fibril types analyzed (including previously published data for β₂m fragmentation under the same mechanical perturbation conditions in Xue and Radford (2013). The solid fitted lines represent the time regimen where the length distributions closely approached the asymptotic line and the self-similar distribution shape where Equation 2 is valid (Transparent Methods).
