Overexpression of EcRab5c promoted autophagy. (A) Overexpression of EcRab5c enhanced autophagosome formation. GS cells were transfected with pcDNA3.1-Flag/pEGFP-LC3 or pcDNA3.1-EcRab5c/pEGFP-LC3, respectively, and then incubated with 1 μM Rap for 2 h. The nucleus was stained with Hoechst 33342. Scale bars are 5 μm. (B) Quantification of LC3 puncta/per cell in (A) was expressed as mean ± SEM, n = ∼90 cells of 3 independent experiments. *p < 0.05.
