Panel (a) shows the distribution of ganglionic cells with ventral roots of spinal nerves, communicating branches, and dorsal aorta (see also Figure S3C). Panels (b and c) show a transverse section and its magnified view, respectively, as indicated by a dotted line in panel (a). Two groups of ganglionic cells are seen: aggregated sympathetic ganglia dorsolateral to the dorsal aorta, and ventrally migrating ganglionic cells (blue arrows and arrowhead in panel (c), respectively).
