Presentation of differences between the angle‐corrected velocity v ac and the velocity v wss that should be used in the WSS estimation for 3 possible cases; v ac is obtained by the conventional PWD with angle correction, where v D is the result directly measured by PWD and θ is the beam‐to‐flow angle; v wss is derived from the vector velocity v, which is also considered the true velocity in the vessel.
