Subjects rating for perceived exertion (RPE) on the Borg scale (0–20) for every 15 min during exercise (15, 30, 45 min) and at the end of exercise (60 min). Perceived exertion was rated for all exercise protocols: high intensity exercise at 70% Wmax in hydrated and dehydrated condition, intermittent high intensity exercise in blocks of 2 min at 55/85% Wmax and moderate exercise at 50% Wmax. Statistical analysis showed significant overall effects of timepoints and protocols on rpe (p < 0.001) as well as a significant interaction (p < 0.001).
