Onuf’s (ON) MNs are located in the ventral horns of the upper sacral segment and innervate sphincters and muscles of the pelvic and perineal regions, such as the sphincter ani externus, the sphincter urethrae membranaceae, the bulbospongiosus, the ischiocavernosus (and its equivalent in females, erector clitoridis), and the levator ani muscles.
