Depicted are the cumulative distribution functions of similarity (cumulative distribution function (CDF(similarity)), either intra-ROI (panel A) or inter-ROI (panels B–D) when all 1536 components were considered. Intra-ROI (panel E) and inter-cancer ROI (panel F) similarity was based on 147 most abundant components. A similarity that corresponded to CDF(similarity) = 0.5 represents its median value.
