The distribution of Aβ-IR neurons in the cerebrum and the trigeminal nervous system in 4-month-old 3×Tg-AD mice using an anti-Aβ antibody (6E10). A, B) In the positive control, strong Aβ-IR neurons were found in amygdala, and relatively weak Aβ immunopositivity was observed in the hippocampus. C) In wild-type C57BL/6 mice, which were used as negative controls, no Aβ-IR Vmes neurons were found. D–H) In the trigeminal nervous system intensely Aβ-IR neurons were found in the trigeminal mesencephalic nucleus (Vmes), weak scattered Aβ-IR neurons were observed in the trigeminal motor nucleus (Vmo), trigeminal principal nucleus (Vpr), and trigeminal spinal nucleus (Vsp).
