The New England study region encompasses six states—Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont—and over 57,000 protected area parcels [28]. Data sources: U.S. Census Bureau [29], U.S. Geological Survey [28], and Plisinski et al. [30].
