The table shows the in-hospital mortality of IE caused by viridans group streptococci (VGS), Staphylococcus aureus, and other microorganisms (mainly enterococci and coagulase-negative staphylococci). Data are displayed separately for the period before and after the cessation of antibiotics in dentistry for the prevention of IE, in October 2012.
