Nek8445-depleted cells have ventral disk organization defects. Control morpholino-treated cells and Nek8445 knockdown cells stained for δ-giardin-3HA and tubulin (6-11B-1 antibody). Note the altered disk morphology such as increased width, larger bare area, and some striated staining of δ-giardin-3HA not observed in control cells. Of rounded Nek8445-depleted cells, 38% (n = 108) had altered disk morphology not observed in the control morpholino-treated cells (n = 63). Scale bar = 5 µm.
