DNMT1 epigenetically regulates NT5C2. DNMT1 overexpression induced NT5C2 DNA hypermethylation and leading to NT5C2 gene silencing and insulin receptor inhibition. Overexpression of NT5C2 caused DNMT1 expression inhibition and insulin receptor activation.
