Knockout (KO) mice (Lrat-Cre Pdgfra−/− mice) have no reduction of fibrosis-associated gene expression. Real-time RT-PCR shows no significant changes in expression of Acta2, Tgfb1, Tgfb2, Fn1, Mmp9, Mmp13, Timp1, or Pdgfrb in cDNA derived from KO livers compared with wild-type (WT) controls at the 4-week carbon tetrachloride time point of liver injury. All assays were performed in triplicate, and the results are normalized to the mean gene expression of the WT cohort. n = 7 KO mice and 6 WT mice.
