Figure 5.

Figure 5

Coactivation-based clustering, meta-analytic coactivation contrasts and functional preference profiles of the left-TPJ. (A) We identified three clusters within the left-TPJ based on silhouette scoring: an anterior cluster (red), a posterior cluster (yellow) and a ventral cluster (green). (B) Coactivation contrasts of the left-TPJ. All three regions strongly coactivate with the right-TPJ. The posterior and ventral clusters showed stronger coactivation with the right-TPJ. The posterior cluster showed more coactivation with the ventral MPFC whereas the ventral cluster more strongly coactivated with the dorsal MPFC. Strength of association with cognitive and disorder topics, of the left-TPJ measured by LOR (Functional preference profiles). (C) All clusters in the left-TPJ were primarily predicted by social, decision-making, memory, and awareness. The ventral cluster was strongly associated with reading, semantics and emotion whereas the anterior cluster showed stronger association with reading and working memory. The posterior cluster was more strongly predicted by priming. (D) Left-TPJ and health conditions. No subregions showed strong associations with disease-related topics. Figure was created using Python and Adobe Illustrator.
