Since January 2020 Elsevier has created a COVID-19 resource centre with free information in English and Mandarin on the novel coronavirus COVID-19. The COVID-19 resource centre is hosted on Elsevier Connect, the company's public news and information website. The three stages of COVID-19, as proposed by Siddiqi and Mehra (Siddiqi and Mehra, 2020), with suggested pathophysiologically appropriate stage-related treatment. The larger the size of the characters within the figure, the stronger the recommendation. The duration of the stages is indicative and can vary substantially. The criteria suggested by Langer-Gould et al. (2020) might substantially help to determine the shift from stage I to stage II.
