| • Degenerative disc disease at one or more levels between C3 and T1 confirmed with x-rays, CT, or MRI |
| • Radiculopathy and/or myelopathy |
| • Appropriate conservative medical treatment |

Exclusion criteria |
| • Age > 65 years old |
| • Noncompliance with study protocol |
| • Osteoporosis |
| • Metabolic bone disease |
| • Congenital or posttraumatic deformity |
| • Infection |
| • Neoplasia |
| • Instability of the intersomatic space |
| • Narrow canal (< 12 mm) |
