Manuka honey is able to inhibit virulence factor production by S. pseudintermedius. DNase (A), hemolytic (B), and proteolytic (C) activities of the 18 S. pseudintermedius isolates in the absence (control) or presence (treated) of a sublethal (5% [wt/vol]) concentration of manuka honey. Those isolates showing significant changes in sensitivity are marked with asterisks (**, P ≤ 0.01; ****, P ≤ 0.0001).
