ME49Δα‐amy vaccination effectively reduced the replication of challenging parasites in mice. Naïve or vaccinated mice were challenged with 10⁵ tachyzoites of RHΔhxgprt (5 mice for each group) by intraperitoneal injection, and the parasite loads in peritoneal fluids 6 days post‐infection were determined by quantitative PCR.
