Figure 2. P-selectin expression is increased in colon cancer tissues.

Figure 2.

A. A human P-selectin antibody was used to observe P-selectin levels in a human tissue microarray counterstained with hematoxylin. The tissue microarray included samples from healthy individuals and cancer patients with colon adenocarcinoma of various stages. Scale bar: 20 μm. B. P-selectin antibody-stained slides were analyzed for tumor invasion and metastasis. The abbreviations are as follows: T refers to the primary tumor; T1, the tumor has invaded the submucosa; T2, the tumor has invaded the muscularis propria; T3, the tumor has invaded through the muscular propria into the subserosa or non-peritonealized pericolic or perirectal tissues; T4: the tumor has directly invaded other organs or structures and/or perforated the visceral peritoneum; N refers to the regional lymph nodes; N0, regional lymph node metastasis; N1, metastasis in one to three regional lymph nodes; N2, metastasis in four or more regional lymph nodes; M refers to distant metastasis; M0, no distant metastasis; and M1, distant metastasis.
