FtsZ-GFP rings rapidly disassemble upon Era647 induction. WM5570 cells carrying pAW5 (pBAD-Era647) and producing moderate levels of FtsZ-GFP (50 μM IPTG) were grown in LB plus chloramphenicol to mid-logarithmic phase, induced with l-arabinose (ara) for the times shown, and rapidly mounted on agarose slabs for imaging by fluorescence microscopy.
