Effects of ascorbic acid and Casamino Acids on Bvg-regulated virulence factors. Tohama I was cultured in SS medium or ascorbic acid-deprived SS medium (SS_AsA^–), Casamino Acids-deprived SS medium (SS_CaA^–), or ascorbic acid- and Casamino Acids-deprived SS medium (SS AsA^–_CaA^–). WCL and Sup samples were separated by SDS-PAGE and analyzed by Western blotting with antibodies against BteA, BopB, FHA, or CyaA. NS, nonspecific signals.
