M dictates the stability index: the larger the M value, the worse the expression stability of the gene. SD is standard deviation of the Ct value. CV is coefficient of variation of the Ct value. If SD < 1, the gene was considered to be relatively stable; therefore, the smaller the standard deviation and coefficient of variation, the more stable the gene expression.
