Effects of aronia bioactive fraction (ABF®) on inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) (A) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) (B) protein expression in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated BEAS-2B cells. ABF® inhibited iNOS and COX-2 production (Figure 6). iNOS and COX-2 protein levels were confirmed by western blot. Expression of iNOS and COX-2 was markedly increased by LPS treatment and significantly reduced following ABF® (10 and 25 μg/mL) pretreatment. Values are expressed as means ± standard deviation (SD) of triplicate experiments. *** p < 0.01 indicate significant differences as compared to the LPS-stimulated cells.
