Ten full length movies were chosen from 10 genres. These were required to have been successful, defined as an average Internet Movie Database (IMDb), Metacritic (Meta) and Rotten Tomatoes (RT) score greater than 70%. IMDb scores were converted to percentages for this calculation. Movie lengths are given in seconds (s), also equivalent to the number of whole brain volumes collected when participants watched these movies during functional magnetic resonance imaging. The DVD version of the movies used in the database can be purchased with their unique Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN) or International/European Article Number (EAN).
